RESOLUTION:
All file formats must have a minimum of 350dpi (dots per inch) resolution. The images designed for the web are normally created with a low screen resolution of 72 dpi. Print images need to be of a much higher resolution (at least 350 dpi) or there will be a substantial drop in the image quality on your printed labels.

COLOR MODE:
All color artwork and/or images must be provided in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) color mode. All black & white artwork and/or images must be provided in grayscale color mode.
BLEED:
For roll labels, please build your print-ready digital files by adding 0.1875" bleed to each dimension (or 0.09375" bleed on all four sides for square or rectangle roll labels). For example, a 1" x 1" roll label with the full bleed should be 1.1875" x 1.1875". Please design your files on our templates to ensure proper bleed.
ADHESIVE:
The adhesive is a type of glue on the back of the label, which with slight pressure applied, makes the label stick to the substrate (the surface to which the label is applied). Available adhesive types are removable, permanent, repositionable, etc., in acrylic or solvent (rubber based.) Currently, Creator Print is offering a General Purpose permanent acrylic adhesive.
A label with this adhesive cannot be removed without the label being destroyed or leaving residue on the object that it was applied to. This adhesive generally adheres well to most corrugated, paper and plastic substrates but is not guaranteed to work for every application. Labels with this general purpose permanent adhesive can be applied at temperatures as low as 25 degrees - 35 degrees F. It has a service temperature range of -50 degrees to + 150 degrees F.
GRAPHICS AND DIGITAL LABEL PRINTING:
Digital label printing uses the standard four-color process as with other types of printing. Files should be created using CMYK color. All files submitted as RGB will be converted, which may cause color shifts. If would like to guarantee accurate color reproduction, please provide files using the CMYK values from a Pantone Process Coated Color Guide. Printed colors are always different from what is represented on a computer monitor. Even PDF proofs are not an accurate representation of color. It is very important that you use a Pantone guide if exact color representation is important on your finished label.
Our digital press utilizes four-color process (CMYK). While we cannot print an actual PMS spot color, we can print a close approximation to 95% of all Pantone colors.
When creating your file, remember press gain is not an issue with our digital press and there are no trapping requirements. The press will print utilizing a maximum of 812 dpi. Also, the press normally prints utilizing a 180 line screen, but can print a line screen as high as 230. Currently the press does not support fluorescent or metallic inks.
Overprinting is used in traditional means of printing, but is not necessary when using our digital press. Do NOT create files with Overprinting attributes. These attributes will often change the appearance of the final product.
DIE SIZES:
Creator Print does not sell "pre-cut" roll labels. Every size offered is custom produced and die-cut after printing. The die cut is accomplished by using a die which is basically made up of cutting blades that are formed into the desired shape. The die will cut through the facestock only and not through the liner. Creator Print 's labels are die cut with a gap between labels. It is the distance from the bottom edge of one label to the top edge of the next label.
ROLL OUTSIDE DIAMETER/QUANTITY PER ROLL:
The desired outside diameter for rolls of labels printed for Creator Print customers is 5.5". This is a common size that fits most hand-applied dispensers. The quantity per roll varies per label. The size and shape of each label determines the amount of labels that will fit onto a roll. If you have chosen a thicker material and heavier laminate, the quantity per roll will decrease. If your label is small or on thin premium paper stock, the quantity per roll could increase.
Fully automated label applications generally require a 12" O.D. Currently this is not offered by Creator Print.
CORE SIZE:
All Creator Print rolls of labels will arrive wound onto 3" cores. This is an industry standard and should work for most applications. Typically, the core size only matters when a label is being applied by an automated labeling dispenser. The dispenser's construction may not allow for a 3" core. It is suggested you verify a 3" core will work with your application prior to ordering.
PROPER STORAGE:
1. Labels should be stored in a cool dry climate-controlled area
2. If labels are stored where they may be exposed to moisture, they should be plastic wrapped or stored in fiber cartons for protection. Store them in a moisture controlled area 24 to 48 hours before using.
3. Do not open individual packages until you are ready to use the labels.
4. Do not stack cartons of labels more than four high. Stacking less than four high will prevent cartons from being crushed and causing damage to the labels.
5. Do not double stack skids containing cartons of labels
6. If banded on skids, break bands to relieve pressure on labels.
